A traditional ceilidh band for Scottish dancing
The Lochnagar band is a busy Scottish ceilidh band based around London and the South-East. It plays lively and exciting traditional music for Scottish ceilidhs and dances.
Its members have been playing together for several years and their experience guarantees a memorable and exciting evening of Scottish dancing at its best. The band was formed by members of the long-lived Invercauld band when that band’s founder moved to Jersey in 2009.
The band is accustomed to playing for all sizes and types of venues, from large halls packed with hundreds of excitable students, to the most elegant of weddings at the grandest of estates.
Don’t know the dances? Don’t worry! The band includes an experienced caller to guide you through all the dances with infectious enthusiasm.
The band usually plays as a three-piece band plus caller. However, we can adapt depending on the size of your event and your budget. You can book the Lochnagar band as a two-piece band for smaller events and occasionally we play as a five-piece.
The band has full amplification equipment that is suitable for most halls (each of our ‘portable appliances’ have been electrically safety tested). The band holds public liability insurance available on request at a level commonly required by hotels, town halls and other public venues.
